What this is
Palette is an AI-powered personal color analysis tool. You upload photos, we analyze them, and we give you your color season and palette. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what happens to your photos.
Data we collect
When you use Palette, we may collect:
- Photos — the images you upload for analysis. These are temporarily stored during processing and deleted immediately after your results are generated.
- Email address — if you choose to provide it for receiving results or creating an account. Optional.
- Analysis results — your color season, palette, and profile. Stored in our database so you can access them later if you create an account.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Device and usage data — basic analytics (page views, session data) to understand how the app is used. No behavioral advertising.
Your photos and AI processing
Your photos are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for color analysis. Anthropic retains API inputs (including your photos) for up to 7 days for safety and abuse prevention, then deletes them. Your photos are not used to train AI models. You can read Anthropic's data retention policy at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Photos are also temporarily stored in Vercel Blob Storage during the analysis process. They are deleted from Vercel immediately after analysis completes.
We do not retain, sell, or share your photos with any party beyond what is described above.
How we use your data
- To run your color analysis
- To deliver your results and allow you to access them later
- To send a sign-in link if you request one
- To process your payment via Stripe
- To improve the product (aggregate, anonymized analytics only)
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
Third-party services
We use the following services to operate Palette. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Anthropic — AI analysis engine
- Vercel — hosting and temporary photo storage
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Stripe — payment processing
Data retention
- Photos: Deleted within minutes of analysis completing.
- Analysis results: Retained until you request deletion.
- Email: Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing kylee.lessard@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
